What the Day Involves

A different kind of CPD

This isn’t a lecture. The Masterclass Day brings new and experienced practitioners into the same room, working side by side. Together, you’ll share insights, work through real client scenarios, and add new resources and strategies to your toolkit — a genuine mix of perspectives.

You’ll explore how to create an environment — for yourself and your client — that fosters real co-design of the guidance experience. You’ll investigate ways to challenge clients that are both compassionate and empowering. And you’ll get real practice reflecting-in-action, for those moments when your usual approaches aren’t working and you’re genuinely unsure what to do next.

• cases Built around real cases. Beforehand, we’ll ask you for the areas of practice you’d most like to focus on — client age, stage, behaviour, and need — and use these to build working cases for two small groups of no more than 10.
• psychology_alt McMaster Experiential Learning Technique. You choose to join either a client group or a practitioner group and view the interaction through that lens. Your own practice isn’t observed; instead, reflective breaks are built into the day where the group steps back together to discuss strategy and co-design the way forward.
• replay Try, rewind, retry. If something isn’t working, you can simply rewind and try a different approach.
